Finding the Purpose of Life

So it’s been a while since my last update. I’m 24 now yay! Or I have been for a while I guess but yay anyways! Perhaps may be a long while until my next post as well. Well anyways, I’ve finally grown up and become an adult.. I swear. This post is going to be slightly categorical simply because there’s too much I want to ramble on about and I won’t be able to keep it in my head unless I separate concerns. Hope you guys find it amusing haha.

Physically

I’m finally reasonably in shape. Currently 173-175 lbs with 12% body fat. (5’10”). Just moved and looking to get a new personal trainer to really motivate me to get into GOOD shape. I’ve learned a lot about how hard it is to really lose weight mentally but it all comes down to one thing (to get into decent shape that is) – just cut calories. I personally cut from 192 -> 170s just eating BIG breakfasts and lunches and not eating dinner. Also saved quite a bit because breakfast is free where I work haha. Anyways yeah, pretty enthusiastic about this topic and I want to get everyone else I know to work out but it’s kinda weird because… well not everyone else prioritizes it so yeah. I’ll probably stay the fitness course until I get a six pack then I’ll chill out. Have to try it before you knock it right?

Emotionally

Life is good. I love my girlfriend Hannah, who ironically she works harder than me because she’s still in art school and trying to get into Pixar or Dreamworks right out of school. I don’t particularly have difficulty fitting into any social group now, however I have yet to find people really similar to me. I wonder if it’s because I’m too quick to judge and size up people as opposed to really appreciating them for who they are. I think that’s a problem that I’ll continue to work on. I’ve learned a few good tips. The easiest way to really get someone to like you is if you tell yourself you want to make this person happy. So if you see a coworker or a classmate or someone else, just think how can I make this person happy? They deserve it being around me! 🙂

Financially

This is probably the part of my life that I’m doing the best in right now! I have a steady job now with an income I would never have imagined. (Won’t post the exact amount for employment reasons – just think > 6-figures POST tax). So now I can buy whatever I want within reason. So of course, I spend it stupidly and irrationally. I drive a decent car(Thanks dad!), live in a Studio in the heart of Hollywood by myself and all that good stuff for about 30% fraction of my income. Max out my 401k and looking to buy rental properties in Florida / Arizona / Texas to keep generating income!

Intellectually

Still read a ton, need to pay more attention when reading and need to stay more focused. Also learning Chinese still, thinking about getting back into Go (Chinese board game similar to Chess) and such.

Going to end with a quote that reminds us no matter our future plans or past failures. To take a moment and just enjoy the moment and explore true selves.

What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters to what lies within us.

– Ralph Waldo Emerson
